Naomi came to Ashland for a poetry reading hosted by the Chautauqua Poets & Writers. Naomi kindly gave Daniel and I some of her time to visit with her on the topic of How Do We Bless. We had an extraordinary evening. 

This painting was a study for a larger painting entitled, "Let Me Peer Out At The World . . . Poet, Naomi Shihab Nye."

I am pleased and honored that my portrait of Poet, Naomi Shihab Nye has been accepted in the Oil Painters of America 2017 Western Regional Exhibition at the  Illume Gallery of Fine Art,  Saint George, Utah, November 10 - December 9, 2017.

This painting was featured in the May/June 2017 edition of Fine Art Connoisseur as part of its editorial "Today's Masters, More Than Just Faces."
